Neil Armstrong, to be precise, was the first man on the moon and he was followed by his space companion, Buzz Aldrin, but, there was another member of the team, the person who piloted the ship while the two men were gone he also plays a very important role, although he didn't touch the surface of the moon he was to thank for this mission, he had stayed in the spacecraft patiently waiting for the two men and he is Micheal Collins. The spacecraft was launched on July 16th 1969 at 1:32 p.m. UTC and it landed on the moon on July 20th 1969 at 8:17:40 p.m. UTC.
